When I read memoirs or biographies, I love seeing photos of the people and events I’m reading about. But when these photos appear, one after the other, crowded into the middle section of a book, or in two sections halfway through the first and second half, I find it confusing and frankly annoying. I just might skip over the photo if I forget what it’s about, especially when it was described so many pages back or if I have no idea who the person is that I’m looking at. I prefer seeing a photo that matches what I’m reading on the page where it appears.
